Our guest is the owner of the accounting training firm Accounting by Sal, and she is passionate about teaching business owners how to effectively manage their finances. Sal Rezai, welcome to the show. Thank you, Mike, for having me. It's great to have you, and I'm excited about this episode because I think your story is in some way unique. And before we get into all of that good stuff, I'd love for you to share with our audience about you and your career journey leading up to this point.
Sal Rezai: Um, thank you for having me, Micah. First of all, I started my accounting bookkeeping firm back in 2008, so I just started it with filing personal tax and honestly doing bookkeeping for contractors and subcontractors while I still had my corporate job with Bank of Montreal. So I was just doing this part-time, and then that's when exactly it started it. So my personal tax clients, they were approaching me. They were saying, "You know what? We have our family friends. They have businesses. Are you interested to do their bookkeeping?" And having said that, they were always sharing with me that they're not having really good experience with their current accountant firms, not sharing a lot about their books and their numbers and educating them. So that's when honestly I started. I was like, "You know what? Yes, I do have passion for teaching you, so let's just take your business and work on it." So then until 2012, I really didn't go full-time to my business. I just, you know, I still had, I still have my corporate job. I still continue it, but while I was still working for my, you know, doing
