Cookie Policy
Effective date: April 19, 2026 · Last updated: April 19, 2026
1. Introduction
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember things between visits — whether you're logged in, what's in your cart, how you got to the site. We use cookies (and a few similar technologies like local storage and pixels) to run The Successful Bookkeeper website and community, keep them secure, and understand how people use them.
This page lists every cookie we set, who provides it, what it does, and how long it lasts. For the bigger picture on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Types of cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories:
- Strictly Necessary — required to run the site and the community (login, security, checkout). You can't turn these off; without them the site wouldn't work.
- Functional — remember your preferences and improve your experience (for example, keeping you logged in to the community).
- Analytics — help us understand how visitors find and use the site, so we can make it better. Aggregated, not tied to you personally where we can help it.
- Marketing — measure the performance of our marketing and support advertising on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
3. Cookies we set
Below is our full cookie inventory. Some cookies are set by us; most are set by the third-party services we use to run the site. Each third party's own privacy policy governs their use of the information collected.

4. How to manage cookies
You're in control. Every major browser lets you block, delete, or be notified about cookies. Blocking all cookies will affect parts of this site and most others — the community platform, for example, won't work without session cookies.
4.1 Opt out of specific analytics and advertising
- Google Analytics: Install the GA opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta (Facebook) ads: Manage your ad preferences.
- Interest-based advertising generally: Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out and Your Online Choices (EU).
4.2 Do Not Track
Some browsers let you send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no universal agreement on what websites should do with that signal, and we don't currently respond to it — but you can use the tools above to get the same effect.
5. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when we add or change a cookie, a provider, or a category. If a change is material, we'll flag it on the site before it takes effect.
