Lauren Handel Zander: People don't believe in themselves. They don't believe in what they want. And then they're not willing to do the work to go get it anyway. So you want the body, will you do the work? You want the lover, will you do the work? You want the money, will you do the work? You want the relationship with your kids, will you do the work? Then people go, I'll do the work, I'll do the work. But what's the right work? Then, as ballsy as this sounds, I've developed a process and a method of what the right work is to get to know yourself completely good and bad, and how to make yourself do what you wish you would do every day, which is actually a lot easier than you think, but plenty hard if you don't know the trick or won't do it. Okay, so I studied environmental science. I was an environmental studies major. My funny line I use— I graduated from George Washington University with a BS in environmental studies, and I I had one job for 4 months where I discovered at the United Nations Global Environment Facility, like where I thought I had made it and got my dream job to start my career. And I hated the job. Worst job of my life, right? Like little cubicle, lots of paperwork, lots of reading, not a lot of like real thinking, talking.
