Kristen Corey (February 18, 2025): When you receive the majority of your revenue from one source, that's a risk factor, right? And the same principle applies to marketing. If a majority of your leads come from LinkedIn, that's great, and you should keep doing that. But it doesn't hurt to diversify and to make sure that you have a couple leads, a couple lead sources to pull in from different avenues. I'm your host, Michael Palmer, and today's show is going to be a great one. Our guest is Kristin Corey. Welcome to the show. Yeah, thanks so much for having me, Michael. Beautiful. Well, Kristin, please tell us a little bit about yourself and how you ended up doing what you're doing today.
Yeah, yeah. So my background is actually in accounting. I have my master's in accounting. I did the public accounting, you know, year. I even tried the CPA exam. But after doing that for a while, I actually had the opportunity to move abroad to France. And while over there, this was in 2016, remote working wasn't really a common thing back then. No one really considered hiring someone remotely, especially in the accounting industry. And so I found myself in a foreign country where I didn't speak the language, trying to look for work. And an industry that was very welcoming was online marketing. And so I started from the bottom, tried to get some online marketing experience. And then after doing that for a while, when I returned to the States, I wanted to go back into accounting. I really enjoyed the work. I have a huge respect for the work, and I noticed a lot of the different firms that I was interviewing with really were asking, okay, you know, you're, you're an accountant, but you have this marketing experience. Would you be willing to do our marketing in addition to, you know, us hiring you as a bookkeeper? So there was one boutique, boutique firm that I ended up working with, and I did their— I was a bookkeeper and I did their marketing as well. After doing that for about a year, my, my boss came to me and she was like, you know, you're great at this. You
