Our guest is the owner of Growing Your Team, which helps guide small business owners through the process of learning how to hire and manage perfect fit employees and long-term contractors. And I'm excited about this conversation because I know that growing a team is one of the most difficult things you can do in your bookkeeping business, let alone any business. So Jamie, before we get into all of that, please tell us about you and your career journey leading up to this point. Yes.
So I always find this question such an interesting question because my path to starting this business was definitely not a straight path. So I come from corporate and everyone always just assumes I was in HR in corporate, which I wasn't. I was in operations leadership, but I always knew I wanted to run my own business. So I made it a point throughout my career to learn everything I could about leadership and leading other people, because I figured that's what would really help me once I started my entrepreneur journey. I left corporate after— shortly after having my second daughter. I finally told my husband, it's time. We've been talking about this idea for years of starting a software development company together. I'm tired of waiting up for you, so I'm going to quit my job, learn how to program so I can help develop the application that we were talking about developing.
