I'm your host, Michael Palmer, and today's show is going to be a fun one. Our guest is a TED Talk speaker, award-winning business book author, and copywriter, Andrea Dreesen. Welcome to the show. Oh, thanks, Michael. What an honor to be with you today. It's great to have you. Thanks. Now, for those that have maybe not seen one of your TED Talks or other great works that you do, we would love to hear about your career journey leading up to this point.
Oh, sure. You betcha. So, as I look back at my career, I can pretty well trace it back, the trajectory back to how our parents raised my siblings and me with this really deep commitment to lifelong learning. As I look through the rearview mirror, really informs the choices I made. So after I got a degree in advertising and journalism, I ended up very intentionally in an adult learning company for 8 years. I was involved with unearthing local, regional, national experts to deliver short talks to adults. And then in '99, I launched a speakers bureau and I spent more than a couple of decades booking name-brand speakers for large business events. And that was extremely fulfilling. And in the midst of all that, a really key moment, you mentioned my work in the TED community. I discovered just as TEDx was coming on the scene, I discovered the TEDxSeattle community, and I spent 8 years volunteering with that group. And, you know, I think a lot of us go to rock concerts. I go to rock concerts, but I also think of I think of my preference is to go to TED conferences more than a musical event. It's just where I find my people,
