I am your host, Michael Palmer, and today's guest is the CEO of Well Balanced Accountants, and she'll be speaking at the Successful Bookkeeper Summit this November. Erin Deber, welcome back to the show. Thanks so much for having me, Michael. It's great to have you. Please tell us a little bit about your career journey leading up to now.
Erin Daiber (Oct 11): Well, I actually started my career as an auditor in the Big Four. I was working for EY straight out of school and got a lot of experience there, had an opportunity to work with some incredible people and incredible clients, got a lot of experience in a number of different industries and different shapes and sizes of companies that I had a chance to work with. And like a lot of people, after a few years, just got a bit burned out on the hours and the workload. And, uh, so I got recruited out of the Big Four into a financial analyst position, and that's where I discovered that it wasn't necessarily the job, but maybe For me, it was that I didn't have a huge passion for the numbers the way a lot of my peers did. And so that's, you know, from that position is where I started to really do the self-exploration about what it is that I really wanted to do. What was the difference I wanted to make in the world and how did I want to spend my life? What was the work I was really meant to be doing? So I started to explore that a bit while working as an analyst and found coaching. And that was really the beginning of the journey to where I am today. I started this company, Well Balanced Accountants, about 8 years ago. And now I get to work with bookkeepers, accountants, and their organizations. They're all individuals who are looking to grow, become better leaders, and who are also navigating
