Our guest is the founder and CEO of 30Seconds.com and iParenting, a best-of-web digital media company that was acquired by the Walt Disney Company. She's also the author of Become the Fire: Transform Life's Chaos into Business and Personal Success. Alisa Schmitz, welcome to the show. Oh, thank you so much for having me, Michael. It's great to be here. It's great to have you. And what a, what a story, building a company and selling it to everyone's favorite company, the Walt Disney Company. Yes, it was quite a journey. And I talk a little bit about that in the book, actually. It was a full circle moment for me, just, you know, obviously having grown up with Disney and that brand meaning so much to me and then actually selling a company to Disney and then working there. I actually worked for Disney and it was just a dream come true. Wow. Well, let's, let's hear a little bit of your career journey that led you up to that point and then beyond. So we get to know you a little bit.
Thank you so much. Well, my first business started with a personal need, and I think like so many entrepreneurs out there, I just kind of found a need in my own life and just decided to try to build a solution. And so I was expecting my first child and had just recently graduated from Northwestern's journalism school and was, you know, working as a journalist and was looking for information for pregnancy and not finding what I was looking for at the time.
