He is the founder of Influence at Work and the author of the updated version of his New York Times bestselling book, Influence. The Psychology of Persuasion. His book has been the authority on influence for nearly 4 decades. Dr. Robert Cialdini, welcome to the podcast. Well, thank you, Michael. I'm glad to be with you and your listeners. Well, it is a complete honor for us, and we're so grateful for you to be joining us. I mean, your work has impacted and influenced, if you will, so many business people around the world. And I would imagine that yet even so many don't even understand that the book is out there or even understand when they're being influenced or actually how to truly influence others. So before we get into all of that, Dr. Cialdini, please tell us about your career journey leading up to this point.
Dr. Robert Cialdini: Well, you know, I'm a researcher. I had faculty appointments in psychology and marketing departments simultaneously because psychologists and marketers are interested in how the influence process works.
